I just bought my plane ticket and registered at a language school in Madrid!!! I'm gonna be there for 3 weeks in April: I'll have Spanish lessons in the morning, cultural lessons in the afternoon, and I'll be living with a Spanish family. I'm so excited!! I really don't know all that much about Spain, I guess I'd better start doing some serious research wow!! I'd love to visit Spain.

I'm hopefully going to be studying in Spain this summer too, not in Madrid, but in Barcelona. I was there 3 years ago and absolutely loved it- my favorite city that I had visited. I'll be there for 5 weeks and living with a family. I'm both nervous and excited.

Way to go! I'm sure we'll have stories to share once we both get back. Nervous and excited is exactly how I'm feeling, lol!

London is an amazing city. The last place I went was the Domican Republic. I've been to America since but I don't count that because I drove there!

I was gonna go to sweden today, but that didn't happen, so I booked a flight to go backpacking Ireland for 7 days leaving Tuesday I've never been backpacking before and I haven't been to Ireland so I don't know what I will be doing or where I will be going, which is kinda exciting. If anyone has suggestions on where to go/what to see in Ireland, feel free to let me know

I need some advice on my next trip! Ryan and I want to take a small vacation this summer. Probably 4 to 5 days. Here are the requirements: -Not too far away: Canada or the US -Not too expensive -Relaxing (this doesn't mean lying on a beach though, just means not a big city) -A combination of a small city/town with lots of nature surrounding it. Ideally we'd like to be active outdoors: hiking and biking would be great. Canoing or something similar would be fun too. So I'm thinking we'll go somewhere in Canada, but I really have no idea where. I guess I'd like it to be somewhere we don't need a car, or somewhere very small so driving around in a rental car would not be stressful (like when you're in a city you dont know and parking is a pain). I like the idea of going north in the summer, I don't want to go somewhere that's too hot. And we mostly want to relax and be outdoorsy (not camping though), but we'd also like some local culture - restaurants, movie theaters, stores (book stores!). I've always wanted to go to Moose Jaw. I know there's a lot of nature activities, but not sure how much entertainment there is. Are there any cities in Saskatchewan that sound like what I'm looking for? I'm definitely open to suggestions for other places in Canada too - or even the US. I guess the top three things I'd like to do are: -Biking -Reading/Book shopping -Dinner/movies at night Any ideas?

I've never been to Moose Jaw, I've only been to Regina, SK, and quite frankly it wasn't that exciting I'd recommend Quebec City for the nature/small city combination, but it's virtually impossible to do any kind of book shopping/movies in English. Niagara-on-the-Lake (Ontario) is a really nice small town, close to Niagara Falls. There's a nice bicycle path that runs along the river, lots of wineries, and if you're interested in seeing a play, you could go to the Shaw festival (http://www.shawfest.com/). I could recommend a nice B&B up there! Moncton (New Brunwick) might be another good option. It's big enough so that you can do some nice book shopping, but at the same time it's really close to nature. There's an amazing beach (Parlee Beach) just a short drive away from the city, and the Bay of Fundy National Park & Hopewell Rocks - home to the world's highest tides - are amazing. You can do canoeing, biking, hiking, all of it. It'd be easier to get around with a car and driving there is not stressful at all, it's pretty small so there's hardly any traffic. Of course, there's always PEI - home of Anne of Green Gables These are just a few ideas to get you started, let me know if you need more info!

That is very helpful Isa! Moncton sounds like it could be a great option. I'm going to look into all these places. If I think of more questions I'll be sure to let you know! Thank you!

Syl and I are going to spend the last week of May in Boston, yay! A couple years ago I bought the book "Literary Trail of Greater Boston", so we'll try to hit all the literature-related museums in the area, should be fun!

I haven't used this thread in a little while so I thought I'd bring it back to life. Since I last posted in this thread I've been to Santiago de Chile and Chicago, and I now have two more trips lined up: I'm going to spend 3 days in Las Vegas in December (I've never been there so I've no idea what to expect, especially since I'm not the least interested in casinos!) and at the end of January Syl and I are going to visit his parents in Caye Caulker (Belize) for about 10 days
