I liked the first shopaholic book ok, but i hated all the sequels because I felt it was the same main story over and over, and the main character got incredibly annoying. It's discouraged me from trying anything else of hers. When I need something light and beach-read-like I read Jennifer Crusie. She has a lot of books out, some are published as paperback romances but the best are the ones that came out as regular fiction hardcover. She writes well, creates very likable characters, and all her books are very fun and interesting. My favorites are "Welcome to Temptation" and "Bet Me." I found that her heroines in The Undomestic Goddess and Can You Keep A Secret are less annoying it you ever what to give Kinsella another try.

i've only read undomestic goddess and cocktails for three and i found the latter was a bit more annoying. undomestic goddess is really a great book and the main character wasn't annoying at all.

I really enjoyed the first Confessions of a Shopaholic. It's easy to relate to the main character if you have ever experienced the trouble of getting out of any amount of financial debt.

I like the Shopaholic series. I read it for a light, fluffy read. I wasn't expecting anything great out ot it. I wanted a laugh, and that's what I got. They were good. i agree! they're good for a bad day.

The shopaholic series is on my TBR list. They seem like they'd be fun reads for a lazy day

I liked the way Confessions of a Shopaholic started out but then I hated the ending because it seemed too unrealistic.

I think that's the 3rd one. It's my favorite I think. I just started The Gatecrasher which Sophie wrote under the pseudonym Madeline Wickham. The first 2 chapters are OK but it's hard to say anything definate!
