That's the test I took. People claim it's not exactly accurate but if you take it honestly then according to the "guidelines" of the religion it says you are; you belong

I thought it was a really interesting quiz. My younger sister took it and got Unitarian Universalist, which is more what I thought I'd get. She didn't really understand some of the questions. I had trouble figuring out what a couple of them meant actually.

I got the same result as you Kristie, but the definition they give for Reform Judaism doesn't match the answers I gave... I guess the test doesn't work for everybody!

1. Unitarian Universalism (100%) 2. Liberal Quakers (98%) 3. Secular Humanism (96%) I got this as a result... And don't really know what to think about it. The times when I go to church (once a year or something), I can really enjoy it. Not because I'm a roman catholic or something of the kind, but because I lice the peace that comes in my mind when I'm in a church. I visited Lourdes 4 or 5 years ago, I was only 12 or 13 years old, but I really had the strangest experience there... After I touched the wall and did all the other stuff you do at Lourdes , I was walking through a lane with high trees, and I felt so peaceful and complete, like pure happiness. Yeah, I'm not sure what that was all about, I'd love to go back one time and see what I feel. I don't really practice a belief, but sometimes I think about all the 'maybes' and the 'might' in my head . I would love to really believe something and be part of a group that can rely on a certain truth they trust upon, but my mind doesn't seem to allow me to do that.

I think I understand how you feel - I once went to a baptist celebration (or mass? not sure what to call it) with one of my friends who's a true believer and I loved the atmosphere - it was so cheerful, and they made you feel so welcome, like it was one big, loving family! But at the same time, I felt like a bit of a fraud because I knew I couldn't share their belief in Jesus and the Bible and so on. I can't help but think that having faith must be a warm, comfortable feeling...

Sometimes having faith is a warm, comfortable feeling. Jesus said that He came with peace (bit not the same peace as the world would give). But on the other hands, with faith comes doubt. I've been a Christian my entire life, and for long periods, sometimes months, I don't have much faith to show for myself. I just know that I want to believe in Jesus and follow Him, but I just don't manage it. But luckily, that's when the Bible says that even when you can't see Him, He sees you and will pull you through in His time. And then there's the whole persecution thingy that isn't too comfortable, but I have heard from Christians who have been tortured or something like that for their faith that they have been filled with peace even during torture. I don't know, I don't think the world can explain it...I don't even think Christians can explain it. It's just God's presence maybe. Kind of. Philosophic post on my account here...

I agree, to some extent we can never really explain all of this subjec, religion, human spirituality, God, etc. My boyfriend always says the real answer to the creation of the universe and our existence is probably more amazing and complex than anything we could have imagined. Does anyone think the nature of the universe is like in men in black where the universe is a marble in another dimension?

In high school my biology teacher was talking about bacteria colonies in a petri dish. He asked us if we could have bacteria on a petri dish, couldn't we be a little science experiment in someone else's life? Which, of course, suggests another dimension, like you said Dom, but I didn't particularly like being called a science experiment. It was thought provoking though. Last year in physics we learned about this theory called string theory which had a lot to do with wormholes and other dimensions and everything. It was really interesting. I think I mentioned this sometime before and someone said their boyfriend/fiance/husband knew something about this. Can't remember though...

Ok tonight I went out to dinner with three of my friends from uni, one is quite religious but very relaxed about other people's views and never judgemental, she's some modern day church I forget which one, one is 7th Day Adventist and one has a similar relaxed Catholic uprbringing like me and like me isn't very religious.
Anyway so the 7th Day Adventist one has just started dating a guy from my school, also Catholic but not very religious and she's talking about their new relationship.
When asked if she can see she has a future with this guy she says yes, but that she is worried because her pastor says if she dates someone who isn't religious or not Christian she won't be able to go to heaven, and the guy doesn't believe the bible.
I said: That's kind of what they teach in Catholic schools in Australia nowadays, they teach us that a large part of the bible is made up of parables, like we don't really believe Jesus turned a couple of fish into a feast that would feed thousands because we were taught in school it is probably a parable for sharing. Also we were taught all about the possible inaccuracies in the bible.
Non-Religious friend: Why does it matter if he believes the same things as you or not.
7th Day Adventist (infront of two non-religious people of different varients to her, one of which has been taught and believes similar things to the guy she's dating): Because I want my husband to be in heaven with me as well.
My other friend and I were like whaaat? that is so condescending I can't believe you think we aren't going to heaven just because we aren't that religious!
It was so bizzare. And this girl drinks, eats prawns, coffee all things 7th Day Adventists don't do and uses contraception AND doesn't even go to church!
I'm still laughing about it. I mean imagine pretty much saying straight out two of your friends and your boyfriend are going to hell???

Wow, that did sound like a rather strange experience! I'm kind of skeptical to churches saying if you do this and that you won't go to heaven, that's totally un-biblical! I mean, look at who Jesus himself spent his time with...and of course there's that whole thing where the Bible warns us about being judgemental, it's not for us to decide who's going to heaven or not (luckily), all we know is that salvation is not based on our action but on our faith in Jesus Christ. It's as simple as that. So if I were you, Dom, I would just keep laughing;D

;D That's too funny, Dom! I was giggling the whole time I was reading your story - your friend would probably tell me I won't make it into heaven either!!

I'm not overly insulted simply because of the bizzare nature of the whole thing!
Not to mention I have mentioned my boyfriend is an athiest, so I'm going to hell not only for not believing in a literal translation of the bible but also for havign relations with a non religious person by her views!
