So I have a story about me and my boyfriend. When we first started dating at the end of our freshman year in high school, I had practically stalked the poor kid for about 3 years. lol Anyways, we started dating, but he's a farmer and I live in the city and neither of us could drive (the 13-14 miles to the other's house), so we rarely saw each other because it was summer. It felt like we lived hours away from each other. I almost broke up with him because I prolly saw him only 5-10 times the whole summer. But my friend talked me into staying with him and BOY am I glad I did. I love my boyfriend!
(Sorry that prolly just bored you all...)

Wow, funny how 13-14 miles can seem so far away! So who's gonna move? Can you picture yourself living on a farm? Or is he planning on becoming a city boy?

That's really cool, I'd love to go out and experience the country side a bit, maybe one of those farm stay things? I really like horse riding and that sort of thing. Designing cars sounds hard, how many years do u guys have left of study before you move to the city?

haha, yeah, i don't really farm, but i help him with the chickens and sometimes the pigs. i go for tractor rides and i drive the truck (that's just a normal, but big 4wheel drive chevy) when he needs to go somewhere and drive a grain wagon back or something. haha, i love the country/farming life...
we're prolly gonna get married right out of college and we just started...we have at least 3, maybe 4, years before we'd get married, then move. he's a smart boy...math and science are his things, so he may as well be paid well for it

That sounds like a good plan, especially with the large pay packet!
My boyfriend is weird, sometimes he tells me he wants to get married, and other times he tells me he's never going to get married. He's odd.

Sounds like you've got a Luke on your hands! But seriously, guys can be like that sometimes, it's almost as though they see marriage as a threat to their manhood or something... but in the end they come around when they realize that being a bachelor is not all it's hyped up to be

yeah...we're unofficially engaged (does that make sense?) we both know it will happen, and so do our families and friends, but he hasn't officially asked me and given me a ring. about a year and a half ago he gave me a promise ring and everyone just assumes and asks if it's an engagement ring. sometimes it makes me laugh and sometimes it makes me sad when people do that because i just want it to be official already...must be patient...must be patient...must be patient...i think part of the reason i want it so bad is because i was in love with him for years before he asked me out...so it seems like we've been together for 6 years almost (to me) as opposed to the real 3.5 (to him)...o well...must be patient...must be patient...must be patient...
***we should have just made a thread all about boyfriends lol

lol your actually in a situation not unlike mine then with your relationship. I liked my boyfriend for years through school, on and off between the age of 14 and 18. We finally got together on a holiday right after our final exams. So we've been together nearly 2 years but it seems like a hell of a lot longer.
When your given a promise ring, what does that exactly mean? Do they say this is a promise ring? Or is it just a ring your boyfriend gives you? Sorry one of my friends started talking about a promise ring the other day and I wasn't sure exactly what she meant...

i think that the easiest way to put it is a pre-engagement ring. does that make sense? it's supposed to be a promise to propose later when you're more mature in the relationship and you actually can get engaged. it doesn't always turn out that way, but i'm sure it'll be okay with my guy. my promise ring isn't a real diamond or anything, but it's just what it symbolizes for me that i love most. hope that sorta explained it better...
