So I've been packing for my trip, and then I came up with the idea for this thread while deciding which books to bring with me. I brought: Principles of Faith - by Øyvind Andersen, which I've been struggling with for so long When the Best Gives up - by Tollak Sirnes Much Obliged Jeeves - by Wodehouse A biography of Dr. David Livingstone The Player - by Dostoyevsky (sorry don't know how the English spelling of that name is )

This friday I'm going home to go to the Harry Potter party with my mom. So for the plane trip I'm going to bring some books of short stories. Then I can read as many as I can, but not be in middle of of novel when I go get my copy of Harry Potter. I'll hopefully finish during the weekend, and will read short stories again on the flight back.

Good luck with your exam! I´m going on a road trip so I´ll only bring paperbacks. My summer reading consists mostly of Russians and the copies I have are hardcovers. I´ll have to make another list for the trip

This isn't exactly a holiday, but I'm in Toronto for 2 days and I brought Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Dancing in the Dark, Memoria de mis putas tristes and Lucky - I don't plan on reading all this, I just didn't know what I'd be in the mood for after I finish Hitchhiker's...

I packed 3 books for my trip to Maine: Tuck Everlasting, Disgrace by J.M. Coetzee, and The Good Soldier by Ford Maddox Ford. One YA, one modern, and one classic, so I've got something for every mood I might happen to be in!

I just came back from a homestay program in France and my parents FORBADE me to bring any more than one English book and magazine. They also strongly hinted that it would not be wise to bring Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (re-read for the movie!) I don't know whether I should be laughing or crying! So...my book was "The Painted Veil" by Maugham. Usually, though, when I'm traveling, I bring a ton of books because I never know what mood I'll be in!

I'm back! And glad to be, I've missed hanging out here. Turns out I brought too few books with me so I've had to buy a lot as I went along, so here's what I read in addition to the once I brought with me: Oryx and Crake - Margareth Atwood. It was so good! The Curious Incident with the Dog in the Nighttime The True and Outstanding Adventures of the Hunt Sisters Hotel of Thousand Stars Meet me in the Mountains Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert Lol, I had a lot of reading time despite all the work these past weeks!

I'm going on vacation tomarrow, 14 hour drive there, 14 hours back. I'm a pro at reading in vehicles now, because I've done it since I was little.
I'm bringing Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell
Lu, how was the Jane Austen Book Club? I've been meaning to buy it for a while.
