Okay, so I like to see what books are really popular in other countries and it's hard for me to find out. Like, in the US we have the New York Times Bestseller list and stuff. But that's America. I know Jefie's from Canada and there are more people from the old Rory's Book Club that were from many places. So I guess what I'm asking is, if you live in a country other than the US, what books are popular right now?

I think in Australia The Devil Wears Prada is on the top sellers list because the movie is about to come out. I'll find the paper later and see what number one is.

It is interesting. But Süskind´s descriptions are so powerful that some situations were downright nauseating. I´m glad I missed out on eighteen century Paris!

Thanks for all the feedback. It's really a help! ;DI think in Australia The Devil Wears Prada is on the top sellers list because the movie is about to come out. I'll find the paper later and see what number one is. I've actually read Devil Wears Prada already and seen the movie. In case you were wondering, the movie sucks compared to the book because it's almost a completely different story without all the details Weisberger used in the novel. So if you like the book, don't waste your money on seeing the movie.

I have yet to read the book, I'd like to but at the moment I don't have enough money to buy it Starting orientation at lonestar 2morro though (steakhouse) so I will have money again soon ;D I've gone 11 weeks with no income and it nearly killed me... I have read though that the movie greatly modified some aspects of the book.

I read the book some time ago. I thought it was okay but in the second half of the book, Andrea started to get on my nerves.

Andy got on my nerves only because she was acting like Holden Caulfield, my LEAST favourite character ever! I say that because she was doing stuff that she knew was stupid and wrong, but she kept doing it anyways. See, when people do stuff they know is stupid/wrong and even keep repeating it, I say they're Holden-like. And I got mad at myself because even I was doing it once! Gah! Anyways...moving on...

Whoa! Looks like you and Holden Caulfield have some issues ;D I wasn´t overly impressed by him but I don´t hate him.
Measuring the World: A Novel by Daniel Kehlmann is pretty popular in Germany right now.

I would pick to learn Italian if I could choose any. I want to go to Italy and Nick promised to take me when I read 1,000 books. So, 107 down, 893 to go...
