ok,
something like this?
The great Gatsby – F. Scott Fitzgerald The great Gatsby is told by Nick Carraway, during the summer of 1922. His neighbor is the mysterious Jay Gatsby, no one really knows him and there are a lot of stories going on about the man. Every Saturday there’s a big party at Gatsby’s house, where everybody that is anybody comes to party. Most visitors don’t really know the person behind the parties, he always seems to be waiting for something or somebody.

that's good, but I will probably need to alter the last bit so it includes something on his relationship with Daisy Thankyou for helping! God I had no idea how time consuming this booklist would be! Over the last 2 days I have spent about 6 hours on it and ignoring the descriptions it's about 2/3 done. Hopefully it will look great once finished though, fingers crossed!

Yeah that's true about the spoilers, hmmm I think spoilers with the classics are probably ok as long as you don't reveal the final ending of the book. Thanks for the description though, I will probably only change the last sentance

Well, I think I can manage to do the descriptions of: Anna Karenina (I did a writing about it for an English exam, so I'll try to summarize it). Madame Bovary (I'll probably finish it next week). Frankenstein. Breakfast at Tiffany's. Catcher in the Rye. Three lines right? I'll try to contain my verbiage

I hope these are alright:
The Crucible, Arthur Miller The Crucible is a play written by Arthur Miller that charts events of the Salem Witch Trials. A group of young girls are accused of being witches and are put on trial. However, the power of persuasion puts others at risk and helps to unfold a story that shows how far people will go to save themselves.
To Kill A Mockingbird, Harper Lee To Kill A Mockingbird is a coming of age story told from the perspective of Scout Finch. It chronicles her childhood with her family and the events that helped shape her life. Taking place in a small Southern town recently struck by a crisis, To Kill A Mockingbird is a story of human interaction and the ability to look beyond stereotypes.
The Metamorphosis, Franz Kafka Franz Kafka’s engaging tale, The Metamorphosis, is of alienation and how people are affected by others. Gregor Samsa is an ordinary man with an ordinary job until he awakes one day to find his life has been transformed. He is no longer a man, but a large insect. His life will be forever changed as he and his family must adjust to his new form.
If you need me to go into any more details or if there needs to be any adjustments I would be happy to make them for you!

I'm sure I've done some mistakes writing them, hope they're intelligible ;D
A PRIVATE MATTER A Private Matter tells the story of Milton, a univerisity student who joined partisans after 8th september 1943, and his love for Fulvia. While everyone wants war just to be ended, he desperately tries to bring back past emotions and lives in his own world of memories, carelessly of dangers surrounding him. Resistance and private life are fused together into a brief novel, considered best Fenoglio’s work .
WAR AND PEACE by Lev Tolstoj A kind of philosophical work within a novel and one of the most authentic narrative epic. Experiences of two families of russian nobility are interrelated with each others and with the background of early 19th Century european crisis. Tolstoj follows his characters throughout balls, fights, weddings, deaths, directly taking part of their fears and disquietudes, and giving voice to their inner feelings.
I also have few suggestions, I'd like to know what you think of them: One Hundred Years Of Solitude Around The World in 80 Days by Jules Verne Pygmalion by G.B. Shaw Angela's Ahses by Frank McCourt Oliver Twist
Young Adult: The fantastic flying journey by Gerard Durrel The secret garden by Frances H. Burnett Agnes Cecilia by Maria Gripe I loved Ascolta il Mio Cuore by B. Pitzorno when I was a child, but I think it hasn't been translated into English.
I'd also suggest something by Italo Calvino (who is one of my favorite author ;D..that's why I tend to recommend his writings), but I don't know how much it is known outside of Italy..
