LORT books were a killer for me. they were just soooo long and drawn out in places. there were really good parts to the books but there were also killer boring parts. im also not a fan of brave new world. i hated the book until the ending. the ending is what saved the book even a little bit for me. really? I loved bnw, it's one of my fave books. But then I'm a fan of the whole dystopic sci fi genre

I have a quick question: How is it that the LOTR books got to be in the sci fi genre? I definitely thought they would be more like fantasy than sci fi, but I've only seen the movies, so how do I know...

They're not sci-fi at all. But fantasy and sci-fi get lumped together a lot, so that's probably why.

Yeah, I was only wondering because I was working at the library and I was pulling old books from the sci fi section that aren't used a lot and I happened to see LOTR there and I got majorly confused. Because I picture sci fi to be the Star Wars/Star Trek/outer space type of book. But I guess that sci fi and fantasy get lumped together sometimes...

Well, some fantasies are sci-fi-y, and some sci-fi is a bit fantasy. It seems to be the people that don't read a lot of sci-fi and fantasy lump together.

LOTR i could not get through, getting through the movies was hard enought. My boyfriend has all the extended editions. i only enjoyed the last movie only.
The book i hated and could not get through was..."The Devil Wears Prada" I just couldn't do it. The whole book just annoyed me, and had a lack of plot.

I don´t like LOTR either. Maybe it´s too fantasy for me. the devil wears prada was okay, I only hated her after I was halfway through

1984. It was interesting enough, but I didn't like the way it ended.
