Everyone talks about their most favorite books, So here is another question. What book/books are your least favorite book/books?
Recently, there hasn't been too many books that I read that I didn't like, but I never like Lord of the Flies.

I had to read Lord of the Flies for school when I was sixteen and I really didn't enjoy it. I literally had to force myself to read it. The premise of the idea (anarchy themes, microcosm of society etc) I thought was interesting, but the actual book was painfully dull.

I know I hated Holden too, and the whole book. His lack of direction and general apathy really got on my nerves. I only read it this year though and I can see how you might have more affection for it if you read it when you were a mid-teen.

lol, now I feel bad for poor Holden! I actually really enjoyed The Catcher in the Rye and Holden is one of my favorite characters in modern literature. I guess I understand where he's coming from...
I think my least favorite book ever is "w-h-o-r-e" by Nelly Arcan. But there are several others I didn't really enjoy.

I have a couple. One is the DaVinci Code. The other is more of an author that I don't like, J.R.R. Tolkien. I cannot get through his books at all.

I've tried to read the Hobbit a few times but I just can't get through it. Maybe the other LOTR books will be better. I'll always give a book a chance (usually...)

I read The Hobbit in college and loved it! So of course right before the movies came out I decided to read LOTR.... UGH! I didn't even make it through the first book! There are way too much details and it makes the whole story so dry and boring. I actually thought Peter Jackson did a heck of a job turning those books into action movies!

I really didn't like Ceasar by Julius Shakespeare, I guess that's not so much a book as a play though huh.
Wasn't too keen on Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson. I thought the whole gonzo style of writing was cool but the drug subject matter didn't really interest me.

LORT books were a killer for me. they were just soooo long and drawn out in places. there were really good parts to the books but there were also killer boring parts. im also not a fan of brave new world. i hated the book until the ending. the ending is what saved the book even a little bit for me.

I hate Shakespeare. It's just so difficult to read and even to watch movies of the books. I don't know if I'll ever read plays because Shakespeare may have ruined them for me forever.

I agree with that. I've only recently started reading Shakespeare for fun after almost 6 years.
