Haha, so am I, so am I... At least I have moved on to a master now! (After getting two bachelor degrees...) I'm still in uni, too! ;D But I'm hoping I'll graduate next year and am actually about to start writing my thesis. It's so good to hear from all of you. I've missed this place. I come here every now and then and thus was surprised by the amount of members that logged in within the last 24 hours. Michelle made us do it Love that it worked too, and I hope we'll get discussions started again on here. Oh good luck with the thesis, what's your topic? Heh, Carmen, I'm doing it the other way round, I'm on my second master's! It's like a bad habit, can't seem to quit uni.

I tried to start checking out the site earlier this summer, but it's already been about two months since I've been here. Apparently this is going to be harder than I thought. =\
Unlike many of you (sabine, Carma, and Bina), I'm no longer in school. (I received my Masters a year ago.) I was pretty happy to be finished, but I am thinking about going back to get my teaching certification in either ESL or ASD.
I'm preparing for my second year of teaching high school English at a small school. The other English teacher retired, so I now get to teach five different preps as I have all sophomores, juniors, and seniors. I'm not terribly excited about this because it will be like I'm a first-year teacher all over again. Oh well...such is life, right?

Heh, Carmen, I'm doing it the other way round, I'm on my second master's! It's like a bad habit, can't seem to quit uni. It is the same for me: I can't accept the idea of quitting university... Next year will be senior year for me and I will be done with my master in law and I can't imagine entering into the "active life". The idea of the end of school seems really weird when you have actually spent 19 years of your life with school being a big part of it! So, I think that after next year, I will stay in university... either being a PhD Candidate, either studying for another master (in something more literary)... Getting a job and start working is only much lower on my list. I just can't leave university for the moment: I don't feel ready... and actually, the outside world (the economic crisis and all) frightens me a bit I must say.

Well, now on to the catching up part: I graduated from college about a year ago (journalism) and now I'm working for a communication agency. Still havent been able to move out of my parent's house, though

Good to "see" everyone! lostinwonders: That's basically how I felt! I interned for a couple of months after graduating but though the job was more or less interesting I felt my brain shrinking So yeah, 2nd master's to figure out if I want to go or a phd or join the grown-ups in the real world. Wish you well whatever you decide! @paige: Sounds really tough, good luck! I'd always say go back to uni, but that's because I really love it. bru: Stupid email accounts, but I think we all know you're one of the "old crowd" I was really surprised I remembered my password! Well done on the job you! At least that way you can save up and move somewhere decent after a while. I'm getting soo tired of roomates.

Hello everybody! It's so nice to see some activity here on the board! I can't believe my last post was in 2010 when I was about to move to Scotland to study. 3 years later, I am about to move to Sweden to study! Yep, guilty to be one of the perpetual students as well

Haha very true...thinking of research trips for the second ma thesis ..still have to decide on a topic though. That sounds cool, especially since so much is happening in that area...at least on the basic level of consumers. Though I have no idea how complex and super theoretical a masters is

Hey guys! And thanks Michelle for messaging me on Facebook It's lovely to hear from you all! I've had a pretty rough year - ended up in the hospital with what doctors thought was multilple sclerrosis, but now it looks like it might have been a virus. So I shouldn't have to deal with other episodes, though I do have to deal with the inflammation left in my brain It's going OK though, I'm back at work part-time and things are slowly getting back to normal. I'd love to find the time to be more active on RBC though I can't promise anything, but keep me posted!

Hey guys! Oh my goodness it's been so long since I've been on these forums! And now I can't stop smiling, seeing so many members active again; thanks for motivating us Michelle! It makes me sad that this is no longer a place that I visit every single day to talk about all things bookish but at least I have stayed in contact with most of you on Twitter/Facebook. I seem to be also one of those perpetual students, still doing my PhD but I'm cautiously optimistic that I'll be done by next spring. I think it's time to be a real grown up finally P.S @isa I'm so sorry you had such a difficult year. A few years ago I had a similar experience; thankfully instead of MS it turned out that it was the chickenpox virus with some rather peculiar symptoms. Anyway, I hope you continue getting better and are back to normal soon!

It's nice to catch up with you! Glad I'm not alone. I'm a perpetual student as well, now I'm taking a Master Degree. In 2010 I finally got back on track and I got my bachelor degree in 2011, 4 years later than I'd planned. I've worked for most of 2012 (3 months as an engineer which was a great experience) and I went back to University in September. My first Uni experience hadn't been good (I'd save only my thesis and 3 or 4 professors), so I decided to take the master degree in a different city and that was a great choice. It's been a bit hard for me because we've had 5 classes each semester and I wasn't use to having classes anymore. Anyway, I'm really happy with it! Also, I rented a room there for 10 months, I met nice roommates and it was fun, although next year I'll probably commute from home because it's a lot cheaper. It's a 2 hours and a half commute so I'll have plenty of time to read.
