I just bought Love and Friendship by Jane Austen and haven't heard of it before until now. I saw in another thread it was from when she was a teenager. Anyone read it yet and/or have an opinion of it? I'm excited to read it. It's one of the couple I haven't heard of by her before, like Lady Susan.

Yes, I've read it a couple times, it's hilarious! She basically pokes fun at the novels that were popular at the time she wrote it, a bit like she does in Northanger Abbey with Gothic novels. Let us know if you liked it!

So far, I love it. I'm about the 9th letter continued. It's hard to put down. I got a little confused about what all was happening because it's such a fast paced story it seems. I took a moment and gathered my information and pieced it all together. I enjoy the way that Austen mocks Laura and Edward's relationship so far. I'm interested to see what happens later on.

I enjoyed it quite. The book I downloaded also contains other pieces of work Austen has done. So far I've only finished Love and Friendship and am now starting the small portion she wrote of Lesley Castle. I love these small pieces they've put together that are by Jane. It makes me feel well educated in her early life before she wrote all her novels.
