I just finished it and it was such a good book. I loved it. I'm not sure I can really describe it that well but it's about a girl growing up in Nazi Germany who develops a love of books and words in a time where words were used to make way for genocide and books were burnt in the street. It's written so beautifully and I highly recommend it!

Yay! I'm so glad to hear you liked it! It's so original and wonderful.
I've been recommending it to everyone I know, and I bought my cousin a copy for Christmas. I agree that it's hard to describe it well to people who haven't read it, other than "it's amazing!"
Sometimes I get a little frustrated with books that jump around through time a little, and tell you parts of the story out of order in order. But when an author does it well, and tells you the story in a way that makes it more meaningful and beautiful, then I absolutely love it. (I also think The Time Traveler's Wife was another book where you were told events and information out of order, and it worked very well.)

I absoutely loved The Book Thief. It was such a good read. I agree that placing some events out of order worked really effectively. Not all authors are able to do that. The relationship you gain with Leisel I felt was similar to the feelings I hhad to Anne in Anne Franks Diary. They both have a love of reading and writing out parts of their lives. They both endured many struggles and continued to be strong. I will never forget this book.
